Up for auction is a cap tally for the Imperial Germany Navy for the S.M.S. LORELEY. The tally is30" with faded gilt wire. The tally has an 1/8" hole approximately 6 1/2" from the right end. She was a steam yacht built in 1885 and purchased by Germany in 1896 as a gun boat. She was primarily berthed in Constantinople and used for diplomatic purposes. When WWI was started, she was decommissioned and used as a tender in the Sea of Marmara until recommissioning in 1917. She was decommissioned the following year and sold to a private Turkish citizen as a freighter.
