Vintage William Shakespeare Jr. Standard Professional  - Model 1914 - 80 yard Reel
Very rare and early reel.  I am guessing over 100 years old.  Serial number is 22653.  Reel needs
a good cleaning and oiling.
I didn't take it apart, just cleaned off the outside with a soft tooth brush
and dish soap.
Looks to be all original.  The reel works
as far as the crank turning and the line being
able to reel in.
There is no clicker that I can see
and the reel doesn't make a clinking sound, not sure if
it is supposed
to or not.
The thumb
adjustment on the right turns, the one on the left does not.  I am not
up
on these
old Shakespeare reels and was afraid to take it all apart, and clean and oil everything.
I'm sure
that is what it really needs.  Hoping a true, knowledgeable Shakespeare collector can get this
nice little reel all cleaned up and put into their display cabinet .  Please look at all photos to see
condition, I took
quite a few photos.  A nice add to any collection.
