T
his listing is for a vintage Leblanc Symphonie Model Bb soprano clarinet. This is a pro level instrument manufactured by one of the most respected clarinet makers in the industry. Leblanc was THE clarinet to have for classical players in the 1950's and 60's. It was the only real competition for the Buffet R13. This instrument is made of grenadilla wood, not plastic. It was manufactured in France. The serial number is 9,1xx, indicating an early/mid 1950's production date.
This instrument
is in excellent physical, playing, and cosmetic condition.
It has never sustained any cracks. There are no chips/nicks to the tone holes or tenons. There is no noticeable wear to the plating on the keys, although it is slightly cloudy from age, but would buff up nicely if you so desired. There is minimal mechanical wear to the key work. The tenon and bell rings are all tight. The pads are in good condition, sealing properly, and the instrument plays top to bottom as it should! It is also, in general, a very clean instrument.
This clarinet comes in its original case. The case shows normal wear and tear for being 60+ years old. It is solid and functional though. The inside is clean and odor free. It has a cool vintage look to it as well!
There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included with this instrument.
This would be a great instrument for intermediate to advanced level players of any age. This is really a lot of horn for the money, as this was a top of the line instrument when it was made, and this one is in excellent condition. This is a great chance to get pro level quality at a student level price!
Please feel free to message me with any questions.
Thanks again for looking!
Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
