Ultra rare RIAA multi-platinum award presented to Atlantic Records for 10 million sales of Led Zeppelin IV. 1 of a kind with misprint album cover.  See pics!
This style award is referred to as the "R Hologram". R Holograms were the RIAA format from 1989 through 1999 and the first format where RIAA guidelines were all but removed. This created an explosion of looks and presentations. The award you see here was the standard format and surrounded by blue matting exposed under the black. During this time period, new companies began to manufacture the awards. While Creative Glassics still made some awards until ceasing in 1995, NYF&P Co. had stopped making them in 1987. New manufacturers included Fitzgerald-Hartley and Ill-Eagle Enterprises. The "R Hologram" awards are so named due to the large "R" shape of the new RIAA hologram design. Note also the addition of a CD to the record and cassette in these awards. This time period also marked a period of more freedom for award designers. Here's a more classic design on this "R hologram" award for Led Zeppelin IV. As shown in the pics, this item meets all the criteria for RIAA specifications. I even included pics of the stampings in the frame. It is missing the backing that would have had the manufactures label attached and is priced accordingly condition wise. I've included a link to another RIAA award for Zeppelin II selling for 00. As you can see, it's in the same format and materials. Only it lacks in presentation compared to this stunning Zeppelin IV.
