T
his listing is for a Leblanc (Paris) Bb soprano clarinet. Interestingly, this instrument does not have a model name on it. I suspect it is either a Rapsodie, or a Sonata, or possible a "transitional" instrument made between models. It is clearly one of the higher end leblanc instruments, as it has the little metal medallions embedded in each of the sections. If it is one of the above mentioned models, then that would make it an intermediate level clarinet. It is made of grenadilla wood, not plastic, and it was manufactured in France. The serial number is D67484.
This instrument
is in excellent playing condition. I just did a "COA" job on it. That stands for Clean, Oil, & Adjust. The instrument was dis-assembled so that the body could be lightly cleaned, and the bore oiled. The keys were wiped down, and old degraded oil was replaced with fresh lubrication. Pads and corks were replaced as needed, and it was re-assembled and adjusted. It now plays great from top to bottom. It won't need any additional investment in repairs for the foreseeable future.
This instrument is in overall very good physical condition. There is one hairline crack in the bell, but it is held tight by the rings at either end. I don't think it will present any problems to just leave it as is. I tried to point it out in the pictures, but I'm not sure that it is easily visible. Other than that, there are no additional cracks or chips. There is some light plating wear to the keys, and tarnish in the spots where it was not practical to hand polish. The tenon and bell rings are all tight.
This clarinet comes in its original case, which is in good condition. It is solid and functional, with normal light wear and tear. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included.
This would be a good instrument for beginner to intermediate level players of any age.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.
Thanks again for looking!
Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
