A really excellent starter clarinet, however it's been a couple of years since this clarinet has been used, so it's some what of a fixer upper. There's a leak in the B key that a band director may be able to fix and if not it would only cost about 5-10 dollars at your local band store. The pads could be replaced which would be 10 to 15 dollars. Also it has no ligature (5-10 dollars) or case. (Maybe 20 dollars I'm not too sure about that though; I've never bought just a case.) also the corks will need replaced which will be another 15 dollars. Over all with the price charge of 100 and the 70 dollars worth of repairs your only paying 0 for a nice clarinet. If you went to the band store hoping to buy a used clarinet your look at 300-400 dollars range. So overall your walking away with a pretty good deal. However if you choose not to make the repairs the clarinet will still play fine, you just might have difficulty get a middle B and low E out.Posted with
