1880s Burning of Waverly Hotel at Anamosa Iowa Mott’s Orange Border Stereoview

B – 201. Orange border Stereoview made by Merritt Morgan Mott (1844-1910), Anamosa Iowa. The VERY faint caption in the right side frame is “Burning of the Waverly Hotel at Anamosa Iowa, March ??”. Pictorial Advertising on the pink color back side is “Mott’s Union Picture Gallery, Anamosa, Jones Co., Iowa.” SIZE of the curved view is approx. 3-3/8 x 7 inches.
Photo shows a crowd of people standing amidst furniture and belongings near the smoking ruins of the destroyed hotel.
FYI: The Waverly House (Hotel) built in 1852, burned down in 1883.
CONDITION: Normal curved antique stereoview. Minor corner and edge wear. Small puncture near the upper right side top of photo on the front. (This shows up as scrape in the upper left edge on back side). Minor soiling to both sides of card. Very Good condition
